About this property

Hacienda de las Rosas Animal Sanctuary and Farm Experience

Welcome to Hacienda de las Rosas! We are a husband and wife team (and parents of 2 teenagers), who are new to farming! We grew up in a large city and had dreams of owning a place where we could welcome friends, family, & maybe even some farm animals! When we first saw our place, we fell in love with the roses and the views. As parents, our only regret is not being able to do this when our kids were younger. Now we would love to share our 5-acre farm with you!. Come learn farm life with us!
We believe our place is truly special!! Our farm is 35 minutes from Sequoia National park. We are located on a beautiful 5-acre farm surrounded by olive, citrus, and walnut trees. You will enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains and the farm. The walking trails to Kaweah River are just what you need!

We live in the main house on the farm. The Casita is a separate detached house and 1440 sq. feet. The Farmstay has 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a full kitchen, 2 dedicated workspaces (perfect remote working and distancing learning for students) a laundry room with a washer and dryer. We have high-speed internet (25 upload & 5 download) for streaming and zooming. We also have many streaming apps- Netflix, Prime, Disney+, Hulu, and Discovery+.
This farm-stay is perfect for a romantic getaway, girls’ trip, baby moon, anniversary getaway, trip to the Sequoia National Park, family trip, etc.

The Casita is newly renovated to help our guests feel comfortable while enjoying all the workings of a modern farm. The backyard is an extension of the Casita; the barn is a perfect picture spot!!

This farm stay is interactive. Come help us feed goats, sheep and horses. Take our dogs for a walk to the river. Brush our horses and help us keep their stalls clean.

Animal feedings

Glow in the dark basketball

Parachute play

We have made our farm available for weddings, let us know if you are interested.
Guest access
Our guests will have access to the 1440 sq. Casita de las Rosas. Additionally, we invite you to enjoy our property. We have a fire pit with Adirondack chairs, for you to make s’mores and memories.

We will gladly provide you with a animal feeding experience. We encourage our guests to enjoy helping us feed our goats, sheep, bunnies, and horses. Come learn farm life with us!

Other things to note
Some things to keep in mind about farm life:

1) Bring comfortable clothes and shoes.
2) It gets extremely dark at night. Please watch your step.
3) The farm changes month by month and season by season. Every month is different and beautiful.
4) We have great neighbors with animals-cows and horses. We enjoy them, pet them when appropriate, and respect them.
5) The farm takes a lot of upkeep, we ask that you help us keep it beautiful, organized, and clean.
6) Currently, we have 5 goats, 2 sheep, 2 bunnies, and 2 horses, I complicated cat. you may join us for feedings.
7) We love animals and that is why we love farm life.
8)We welcome pets, yet for the safety of our guests, we ask that pets not go on furniture or beds.
9) Each pet equals one guest. For example, 2 adults, 2 children, and one cat= 5 guests.
10) We have trail access that leads to the Kaweah River. We will provide you access, but please be careful the river gets really high.
11) We provide breakfast items on the first morning of your stay.
12) For the safety of our guests, we prefer if shoes are not worn indoors. If you do wear shoes inside, we ask that throughly wipe your shoes prior to entering the house.
13) We offer a farm painting experience, please let us know if interested
Slow down, breathe the fresh air, put the cell phone aside, and have fun!

Delightful Farmhouse
Our stay here was even better than we imagined from the photos. It is spotless and homey. Claudia and Danny were very welcoming, letting us pick fruit from their trees and play with their animals. They provided a delicious breakfast with fresh eggs and berries that even catered to our significant food intolerances. Wish we could have stayed longer and gotten their tour and story.

3 days of blissful respite
My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights to see Sequoiah and King’s Canyon NPs. We are both 55+. This working farm/animal sanctuary is so peaceful and fun to observe. The miniature goats were a hoot, especially the black escape artist. The home itself is tastefully decorated inside with luxury linens and bathroom supplies. There is a fully stocked coffee bar/Keurig and the pantry has a full spice rack and staples. I hate to arrive at a property with nothing for guests. I arrived on my birthday and Claudia had a large vase of flowers awaiting and there were several small containers of fresh roses and peonies throughout from their gardens. On our last morning, they deliver a farm basket to your porch with fresh waffle batter, fresh eggs from their chickens, fresh orange juice and local berries. It was perfect. I would highly recommend this property to families of all ages and to friend groups traveling.

Ideal
Enjoyed it so much that we ended up staying in and cooking dinner when we usually would go out. Definitely will book again each year when in the area. Hosts were great! Can’t say enough good things. Hoping to bring kids sometime too.

Hi there! I'm Claudia, the face behind bHi! I’m Claudia. The face behind Hacienda de las Rosas. I love teaching, learning, creativity, family, getting better each day, and a great underdog story. When we first moved into our place, we would have never imagined what it is today. It all started with a horse that a friend allowed us to care for. That has evolved our farm into a serene retreat with horses, alpacas, goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits, dogs, and a cat. Having animals takes a lot of work. It’s constant and it never ends. We have to do our daily chores, make sure they are healthy, fed, have shelter, but most of all, we make sure that they are loved. Even though this is way more work than I could ever imagine, it’s has made us realize how much animals give to us. Interacting with animals bring connections to the animals themselves, but also to so many people that I would have never had met. So many visitors find peace and joy just like we do. It has also brought connection to our family. The animals bring us together as a team. Priceless. Nature sure has a funny way of teaching us how little we really are and how grateful we need to be.
